OUR LEADERSHIP

Robinsons.png

Rev. Dr. Micheal D. &  Lady Shannon J. Robinson

Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Micheal D. Robinson, has served in ministry for over 14 years. He and Lady Robinson were elected as Senior Pastors of Truth in December of 2023, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, they have joined the effort to reach Atlanta Metro with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pastor Robinson served eight years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Navy from 2001 - 2009. He holds a Ph.D. in Business and Organizational Leadership from Regent University and is a senior leader for the Department of Housing and Urban Development at HUD's Atlanta Regional office.

First Lady Shannon J. Robinson, LCSW, has served in ministry for over 16 years. She met Dr. Robinson while serving on active duty in the U.S. Navy, where she served for four years on several aircraft carriers from 2005 - 2009. Lady Robinson holds a Master of Social Work degree from Norfolk State University and is a Behavioral Health Therapist at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

The Robinsons have a fervent passion for God's kingdom and a great love for the Atlanta Metro area. They desire to see the Lord's plan for Atlanta come to fruition—a plan they realize can only happen by partnering with like-minded believers as they strive to spread the Gospel of Christ to every generation, every ethnicity, and every household in Atlanta Metro.

OUR BELIEFS

The following are the core beliefs of TRUTH TABERNACLE based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry are rooted in these biblical doctrines.

GOD

We believe in One eternally existing God who created all things. God has revealed Himself to us as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit, with distinct attributes but without division of nature, essence, or being. Jesus Christ is God displayed in flesh. He is both God and man.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

REVELATION

God has revealed himself to us through his Son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, through the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.

SALVATION

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us to God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. He was raised from the dead and now by grace offers eternal life as a free gift to all who follow Christ. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

WATER BAPTISM

We believe that our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is expressed by calling on His Name
in the waters of baptism. Water baptism is an act of obedience identifying with Jesus in death to sin, burial of the old nature, and resurrection to new life. We are baptized for the remission of our sins.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that the Holy Spirit is active in the world today. Being filled with the Holy Spirit and developing the life characteristics produced by His indwelling are the privileges of all New Testament believers.

ROLE OF THE CHURCH

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are a Spirit-filled church and a bible-based church.

RESURRECTION

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.

OUR HISTORY

Bishop Patrick Mitchell's journey from Kingston, Jamaica to New York City was not just a physical relocation but a spiritual calling. As the eldest of seven sons, he learned early the value of hard work and sacrifice. While providing for his family, Patrick's hunger for knowledge never waned. Despite joining the workforce after completing two years of college, his thirst for learning led him to pursue evening classes in Computer Science at New York University.

It was during this time that Patrick met his wife and ministry partner, Ouida, a fellow Jamaican with a heart for service. Their union in 1980 marked the beginning of a shared commitment to God's calling. Patrick's passion for ministry found expression in various roles at New Life Tabernacle UPC in Brooklyn, NY, where he served tirelessly for seventeen years.Equipped with theological courses from Kent Christian Center, Patrick felt the stirring of the Holy Spirit prompting him to Georgia in 2008.

With unwavering faith, he founded Truth Tabernacle of Atlanta, UPC. Their inaugural service, held at a Holiday Inn Express in Decatur, saw 28 faithful souls in attendance. Despite humble beginnings, the church flourished, eventually finding a permanent home at 5268  Snapfinger Woods Drive, Stonecrest, GA. Patrick and Ouida's dedication to spreading the Gospel is evident in their ministry's growth. Over a hundred individuals have found salvation through their tireless efforts.

Their belief is simple yet profound: a church without a purpose to illuminate the Gospel is no church at all. For the Mitchells, the transformative power of Jesus Christ is the beacon guiding their mission, illuminating the path for those still lost in darkness.Bishop Patrick Mitchell departed this earth for the beauty of heaven in 2021, and his wife Lady Ouida Mitchell pastored the church from 2021 until December 11, 2023, when the church voted Rev. Dr. Micheal D. Robinson and his wife First Lady Shannon J. Robinson, LCSW into the office of Lead Pastors.
